Izzy Spears- Living Life Out Loud

July 12, 2018 by Kaneshia

Hello World! My name is Izzy Spears

Izzy Spears, a young, vivacious, woman that has a passion for body positivity . Her smile can warm an entire room and yet she is as down to earth as they come. Izzy Spears is a person that has decided to take life by the horns. Vowing to no longer be content with sitting in the passenger’s seat in the vehicle of life, Izzy has vowed to live life out loud.

How does one live life out loud? In the words of Izzy, “Living out loud is an expression I use to say I am no longer hiding behind fear, I am no longer waiting for tomorrow, I am no longer making excuses”.

Since Izzy made her declaration to live life out loud, Izzy has started to pursue her dreams of being an entertainer. As an actress, model and dancer, Izzy finds joy expressing herself through the arts.

Recently, Izzy has decided to use her voice as an author, she hopes to motivate boys and girls of color with positive reflections of themselves. Her latest work, “The Adventures of Jaylen Newman”, a children’s book shining positive light on families of color, highlights Jaylen, a young African-American boy. Jaylen has moved to a new city in a new state. He has fears of what his first day of school will offer. As the narrative unfolds, a kind and gentle mother offers warmth, while a strong and supportive father offers reassurance. By the end of the day, Jaylen finds out he had worried for nothing.

“This children’s series is dear to my heart”, said Izzy. “One day my son approached me asking why there was not anyone that looked liked him on television. My heart melted. Immediately, I knew what I needed to do. I sat down and began to create, “The Adventures of Jaylen Newman”.  I believe children need more positive reflections of what it looks like to grow up in a household belonging to someone of color. The truth is, our homes are no different that the homes of others. People of color are educated, have beautiful loving homes and have love and offer support for their children.

When it comes to writing, Izzy has more up her sleeve. She is in the middle of writing a book about body positivity, “Diary of a Curvy Gal”, is scheduled to be out Fall of 2018.
