I first visited Charm for a sidewalk sale while walking with a few friends downtown. Second Avenue is an eclectic part of our city where shops sell things like records, antiques and food. Charm fits in perfectly with the urban chic tone of downtown and Second Ave. As a confirmed jewelry junkie, I had to peruse the costume jewelry and estate rings and
necklaces (I love bracelets and all jewelry, too). Charm is home to the most beautiful rings and charm 12
necklace I have ever seen! Most estate sales are fun to watch but not all of them have pretty
everyday pieces. Somehow Charm brings together consignment, vintage, estate, new and
charm 5handmade sources. They have jewelry as well as accessories and a cat. Yes, a cat lives there, toocute!
So far, charm seems like the Narnia of boutiques, but you have to see it for yourself to
really get it. Owner Chatham Hellmers keeps her store choreographed so when you shop there
you know the pieces are unique and the store-plan is well thought out. I really could go on all
day about how gorgeous and surprising the store is, but you’ll just have to see it for yourself.
They are located behind charmingly designed windows at 2329 2nd Ave. N.,
Birmingham, AL 35203. Drop in before or after brunch downtown Monday through Saturday 10charm 18 (1)
a.m. to 6 p.m.
